Meditation Days and Sesshin

Sesshin, literally touching the heart-mind, is a term used to describe a practice of coming together to spend time devoted to the practice of seated meditation.

If you are interested in joining our Sesshin please contact us.

In addition to our regular sittings and events at Kagyu Samye Dzong, the Glasgow Zen Group organises longer Sesshin, at Ardfern on the West Coast of Scotland where we have been practicing for many years.

These are retreats where a group of our practitioners will go to have a peaceful and suitable space to focus on zazen sitting meditation, as well as other aspects of our practice such as chanting, eating meditation, and discussion periods. Most retreats are for between four to seven days in length, and have several periods of sitting each day.

If you have some meditation experience and are interested in joining, please contact us for more information.
